  1. Fabulous

    Picture qality

i bought a sony 50 inch bravia and a samsung 50 inch at the time. with out a doubt the samsung is far brighter the picture is so bright you almost light up the room

  2. Motoboto

    Extreme light glare

i researched tv’s for quite awhile before picking this one. it replaced a samsung un50js7000 which was a great tv but i wanted to upgrade in size. after installing this tv i noticed the glare from the lights on the screen, as noted in the accompanying photo. when you turn the tv on the glare doesn’t disappear, it’s lighter on the bright colors but very noticeable on the dark colors. i can’t even comment on how good the picture is because i’m distracted by the glare lines. the only way to get rid of them is to watch the tv in the dark which i hate to do. please carefully consider the lighting in the room before purchasing this tv.

    GREAT TV

i have a big room but limited space. i wanted the biggest tv i could get in the space and this fits the bill. great picture! i also added a samsung sound bar and movies are great.

    Amazing TV!

i replaced a 65″ samsung suhd tv because it was 6 years old and i wanted a new tv for my ps5. very easy to set up and has the ability to adjust picture to your liking. i use it for gaming and streaming and it’s absolutely great for both. i have a 7.2.4 home theatre and the earc is great when streaming through tv. it gets very bright if needed but i usually watch in a darker room so i turned down brightness to 21. my ps5 has no problem running 4k@120hz and looks amazing, i have the brightness turned up to 40 when gaming and the tv remembers the settings based on the input which is convenient. overall this tv is absolutely wonderful and even though there are many cheaper tv’s out there it’s worth it to me to get another samsung for the build quality and the hdmi 2.1 support.

    Excellent TV

Great value and features for an amazing home entertainment experience. Picture quality is vibrant and sharp; sound quality is great.

  6. Mikey485

This television is superior quality for its class.

Crystal clear picture, very stable sound quality for tv speakers. Clean lines almost zero edge appearance. Doesn’t get hot with prolonged use by my kids. I love how it starts up really fast, plus it starts up to the last used av selection.

lack of TOO MANY NEEDED features that competitors

samsung has become complacent. no dolby vision (want the best netflix quality you need that). hdr10 is not enough, customers need both formats (hdr10 & dv). limited apps availabile: android have tons, samsung has the least amount of app available. no tv station app like hoopla (library app), cbc, cnn, bbc, discovery etc. samsung tv plus has nothing good. updates: samsung only update netflix, amazon prime, youtube, disney etc for 1 to 2 years. android tv gets updates from google for years & years. ads on the tv-changing privacy policy don’t prevent it. samsung uses to support feature that their competitors never uses to 10 to 15 years ago now they don’t. sony, tcl and hisense have all these missing features that samsung lacks. samsung: please do something soon, no scripted reply please!!

    Outstanding Colors

i waited a couple of weeks before posting my review to make sure the tv didn’t have any glitches. so far i’m very impressed with the q80 the colors are outstanding and the sound quality is great. the remote control takes a little getting used to but i have no problems with it now and find it easy to use. the q80 was very easy to set up and get running even for me a certified tv dummy. i would definitely recommend the q80 for anyone who wants to upgrade their tv but wait until it goes on sale.

Great Screen and Great Sound but…

here are my critics because i love samsung. samsung is running a showtime promotion for a 6-month free trial. however, showtime app on tv cannot play 4k movies. my 4-years old roku can runs 4k showtime movies without a glitch. it’s a dumb promotion. samsung must update such old apps. this tv has outdated ports on the back panel, which are not acceptable for a thousand dollar tv. a 100mbps ethernet port is so old and laughable in 2021. a gigabit ethernet is a minimum. i prefer a wired connection to a wifi for better performance. one argues that 4k streaming needs only 25mbps. a smart tv is a pc technically. it does more than streaming. you can use this tv for remote pc access, screen sharing, office 365, and pc gaming via steam link. smart remote is ok but not as convenient.
