Since Affresh was recommended by Whirlpool for its products, I decided to give it a try. I have been extremely pleased with its effectiveness. I have yet to see any mold, mildew or other buildup in my HE Washer. Of course, I use this product as recommended, each time my washer reminds me that it is time to clean it. I also leave my washer door slightly open so air can get inside during times I do not use it. I have tried Tide’s Washer Cleaner and I do not like how it smells afterwards. Quite frankly, it smells just like my detergent! Which leads me to believe that Tide’s cleaner is just its detergent in a more concentrated form. The only drawback to using this over Tide’s Washer cleaner is that since this is in a tablet form, it is noisy at first until it dissolves. More effective cleaning power beats out noisiness any day.
