An upgraded soundbar experience
This served as an upgrade of a prior Samsung model used in the living room and the main enterainment hub of the home. The size of the unit matched that of the previous device, so all of the advancements were an upgrade in quality and not footprint. The power and output of the soundbar is stunning, crisp and clean. It creates an immersive sound experience, with several sound modes, including a surround mode that simulates a surround sound system pretty well. Compared to other models, the output is more powerful, needing less volume units on the TV for the same sound output. I no longer have to turn it up to the 20s to hear in the kitchen. The subwoofer is a bit larger than the previous model, but the volume scale is still limited to 6 units and doesn’t have quite the punch I like from an audio system, this limit in the bass is the single aspect that limits me giving a full 5 stars. This unit coves with the ability to anchor to the wall, which is a very handy feature. Setup of the Soundbar is relatively smooth and straightforward. There is the option to use the HDMI ARC, and all of the sound settings can be found on the Samsung TV system audio menu. In this mode, it turns on and off with the TV, eliminating the need to constantly fuss with 2 remotes. Settings and controls can also be accessed on the SmartThings app for easier access and integration. It also has built in Bluetooth for ease of streaming from mobile devices, which is a huge plus. It sushi comes with Amazon Alexa built in with an impressive sensity to speach recognition range that I was not expecting.

It’s all about the sound!
This is not my first sound bar, but it’s the best sounding so far — most bang for the buck! It’s not rich in features, but it is rich in audio details. Samsung did a good job with this. Ease of setup: 5 star – really, it’s very easy. Sound quality: this is where it shines. The sound is better, more detailed than other units twice the price. Low volume: it’s nice and clear, good presence, and detailed. Then it stays that way at higher volume. The sub-woofer adds the low end without overpowering or muddying anything. What a big difference sound is much crisper and has a better true surround sound. Voices are clear when watching movies. Very easy to mount And one of the best, most user friendly remotes I have seen in a long time.

This Soundbar rocks the house!!!
The product arrived very well packaged. We had it unboxed and running in about 30 minutes. The instructions are clear and concise, walking you through setup. They do include hardware to mount above or under a wall mounted TV. It fit perfectly under our 65″ Television with the Subwoofer on the floor to the right. The cables provided for power and HDMI were plenty long enough. After a quick connection via the SmartThings app the soundbar was connected to Wi-Fi. We updated the soundbar software, and after connecting to the TV with an HDMI cable, I fine tuned the audio settings. I was able to adjust output to boost the dialog and drop the bass just a touch. The Subwoofer’s bass was literally shaking the windows and glassware in the bar. I am streaming Dolby Atmos/Vision content from my appleTV and I am in heaven! There is so much more to experience with this Soundbar. Every movie in 4K is a new sound experience. Using the Amazon Alexa feature I could search for my favorite shows on my Amazon Prime app. Connecting my iphone 12 with airplay was a quick tap and my playlist was making beautiful music through the speakers! We have added the rear surround speakers as well and it was a breeze to add them after the initial setup/install. You can’t go wrong with the HW-Q800A 3.1.2ch Soundbar w/ Dolby Atmos / DTS:X. A reasonably priced strong performer in our entertainment room, we watch lots of movies so changing to this soundbar and subwoofer to add Dolby Atmos and DTS:X were game changers for us.

Theater quality sound
I am surprised with the immense output from this soundbar with the multiple drivers working in concert together producing clear atmos audio. Main reason for purchasing this combo was the Samsung Q Symphony feature which integrates the output from the sound bar and tv speakers simultaneously. There is a noticeable difference in sound immersion with this feature turned on. Setup straightforward with the included HDMI cable and mounting brackets. I also purchased the SWA-9500S – Wireless Rear Speaker Kit w/ Dolby Atmos/DTS:X to add wireless surround sound. Using the SmartThings app gives the user extra settings. The soundbar and sub sound fantastic with not only movies, but with music. I was actually surprised when I linked up to Spotify and streamed some songs from my iPhone. Very loud, clear, and with hefty bottom end that does not sound flabby or exaggerated.

Q800 Big sound, easy Bluetooth
I am excited to report that my new HW-Q800A 3.1.2ch Soundbar w/ Dolby Atmos / DTS:X was delivered last night. Packaging was great. The delivery process was seamless. The product arrived in perfect shape, and looks great. I will be hooking this up with my daughter this weekend as a fathers day project. Here is an update. Really easy to hook this sound bar up! I love the Bluetooth so I can play music from my phone. Sound is strong, and easy to adjust. Plenty of base. The sub is particularly sttrong. As I said setup was simple, and the documentation was strong and easy to follow. Singe my roof is very high, I needed to adjust up firing speakers, but easy to do. I am a bit older, so increasing the dialog is a nice feature as well. Nice looking unit. Not very large but large enough.
